Samsung Galaxy S4: Hands on

The Galaxy S 4 has what you'd expect from a new smartphone a bigger screen and a faster processor. But Samsung didn't want to stop there when it presented the successor to its hit Galaxy S III. It loaded the new phone with a grab-bag of features that don't come together as a pleasing whole. The new additions could confuse users.The Korean company revealed the S 4 for the first time Thursday at an event in New York, and provided reporters with some hands-on time with pre-production units.

Sony Xperia E and Xperia E Dual now available online


Sony's entry-level smartphones, Xperia E and Xperia E dual, are now available for purchase online. The phones were listed online across e-commerce websites  for pre-orders including on Infibeam and Flipkart.In line with the pre-order price, the Xperia E has been listed on Infibeam at a price point of Rs. 9,999 and is available in Black, Pink and White colours, while the Xperia Z Dual has been listed at Rs. 10,990 and is available in Black and Champagne colours. 

Open software group files complaint To EU against Microsoft

A Spanish association representing open-source software users has filed a complaint against Microsoft Corp to the European Commission, in a new challenge to the Windows developer following a hefty fine earlier this month.The 8,000 member-strong Hispalinux, which represents users of the Linux operating system, said Microsoft had made it difficult for users of computers sold with its Windows 8 platform to switch to Linux and other operating systems.

Windows Phone 8 update to bring FM radio support, new gestures to Lumia 920 and Lumia 820: Report

Windows Phone 8 is all set to get a new update. According to a report by The Verge, Microsoft is currently preparing a new Windows Phone 8 update that will bring support for FM radio tuner hardware. The report cites sources familiar with Microsoft's plans to inform that the support for FM hardware will be a part of a General Distribution Release (GDR2) for Windows Phone 8.

One of Yahoo's newest employees is a 17-year-old high school student in Britain. As of Monday, he is one of its richest, too.

That student, Nick D'Aloisio, a programming whiz who wasn't even born when Yahoo was founded in 1994, sold his news-reading app, Summly, to Yahoo on Monday for a sum said to be in the tens of millions of dollars. Yahoo said it would incorporate his algorithmic invention, which takes long-form stories and shortens them for readers using smartphones, in its own mobile apps, with Mr. D'Aloisio's help.

Nexus 7 now available in India via Google Play Store for Rs. 15,999


Google has started selling its Nexus 7 tablet in the Indian market through the Google Play Store. At the time of writing this post, only the 16GB Wi-Fi version of the tablet is available on the store, at a price point of Rs. 15,999. The tablet will be shipped by 5 April if one places an order today. The price does not include shipping charges, which are calculated at checkout, but you need to pay through your credit or debit card. We did not see any extra shipping charges on the payment screen.

Samsung Galaxy S II Plus surfaces online for Rs. 22,900


Samsung seems to gearing up to launch Samsung Galaxy S II Plus in India. The smartphone is already listed on Infibeam.com for Rs. 22,900. The website is also claiming to ship the device within seven business days.
Samsung Galaxy S II Plus sports a 4.3-inch WVGA (480x800) Super AMOLED Plus display as seen in the earlier Galaxy S II. Looks wise, the exterior of the device has been replaced with the plasticky back panel as seen on the Galaxy S III.
